“Mom, I just wish I could SEE Jesus. It would make things so much easier to believe.” - my sweet seven year old.

Around bedtime each night she fires deep, complicated faith questions at me that I myself have never even considered.

Her heart so wants to understand it all with facts and concrete proof, but faith doesn’t work that way. And isn’t it so beautiful that it doesn’t?

Many times in my life I’ve had things happen that couldn’t be explained and followed what I felt God was telling me to do, even when all the “facts” made me seem slightly crazy. God isn’t in the business of the mundane, worldly facts. He is in the business

of miracles, beauty, and wonder.

He sees the whole story, when we can’t even see the next page. And there is so much more happening around us than we could ever see or explain. So until that day when we meet Jesus face to face we will continue to live according to God’s promises, even if we can’t see them.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18)

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1)
