When David faced Goliath, the odds were stacked against him. He was young, inexperienced, and stood in front of a giant armed for battle. From the outside, it looked impossible. But David’s courage didn’t come from his own strength-it came from knowing who fought for him. True courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s choosing to trust God in the face of fear. David stepped forward with confidence, not because he had it all together, but because he knew the Lord was with him.

We face giants too- fear, doubt, challenges that feel too big. But just as God gave David victory, He equips us to stand with courage. Not because we’re strong enough, but because He is. Take heart, friend. Whatever giant you’re facing today, remember: the same God who was with David is with you.

Take heart- His victory is already won.

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” - 1 Samuel 17:45

For Deeper Study:

  • What “giants” in my life feel overwhelming right now, and how does remembering that Christ has already won the victory change the way I face them?

  • David’s courage came not from his own strength but from knowing God was with him. Where am I tempted to rely on myself instead of trusting God to fight for me?

  • How can I take heart today- choosing courage not because of what I see, but because I know the Lord has already secured the victory?
