Jesus calls you the light of the world- not because of your own strength, but because His light shines through you. Your kindness in a hurried world. Your patience when it would be easier to snap. Your willingness to help, listen, and love- these are sparks of His light. And when you live in a way that reflects Him, people notice. Not so they can praise you, but so they can see Him. Don’t hide your light out of fear or doubt. Put it on the stand where it belongs. Let it shine in your home, your workplace, your friendships. Because even the smallest light can make a  big difference in the dark.

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. -  Matthew 5:14-16

For Deeper Study:

  • In what areas of my life am I tempted to “hide my light,” and what’s one step I can take to shine more boldly for Jesus?

  • Who has been a light in my life recently, and how can I thank or encourage them this week?

  • What is one practical way I can reflect God’s love and kindness to someone in my everyday routine?
